Its been a very Blonde weekend in my business!! I love it! This weekend I had the oppourtunity to do both my mom & my step mom's hair! My mom has been dark for the past couple of years. Single process medium warm brown. (Kind of boring). I spiced up her hair this time around! Her main concern was that when her hair grows in, her regrowth is 100% grey. She sees a band of grey around her hair line and in her part, then it goes right into the darker color, making it way too obvious that she needs her color done. I added some highlights at the top of her hair, only in the shortest later of her hair, to create a natural highlighted, "reverse ombre" look. She has a long layered hair cut, and the top/ shortest layer of her hair is mostly highlighted now. I mohawked the hlighlighs from her front hair line to her crown area, and then brick layed a few highlights above her ears on both sides of her head, to create movement within the hair. I deepened her base color by about two shades, and once her base was on her regrowth, I bolyaged some pieces throughout the bottom later of her hair to break up some of the oxidized medium brown shades she had enitially been wearing. Her hair is naturall curly, so i incorperated some Simply Smooth Magic Potion leave in conditioner and Simply Smooth Curly Products in her hair after her color was finished processing and rinsed, and her flippy blow out came out beautiful!

My step mom is naturally a light brown. She typically colors her hair with a high lift, light level of a neutral blonde. Sometimes the color covers and takes well to the darker tones in her hair, while covering the greys, but it dosnt always. She has tried many drug store brands and shades, but hasnt quite been satisfied with the results. I over looked her existing colors and tones, and was able to put together a formula to tone the unwanted brassy shades, while also breaking up the hard block of light in her hair. I brought up her base color from a "natural" tone, by using ash tones to cancel out the brassy tones on the interior of the head. a majority of her hair was one shade of a very light pastel blonde, and it had no movement, no demension. i used meduim to light brown neutral tones to create a few low lights within her hair, to put back some of that movement and demension in the hair, while still keeping her light and a true blonde. Her hair tends to be very fine, and the ends get very dry. Her hair is so fine, that it tends not to hold much of a style. It flops after a while, and is not the easiest to manage. Luckely she has no frizz or true "texture management" issues. To cure her dry ends, I had her rinse her color after bring processed, do a light shampoo to rid the color resedue, and then do a deep conditioning treatment using my #HairByAlissa Coconut &Argan Oil Deep Conditioner, that is Organic and Color Safe. Her hair felt brand new. The Argan Oils in the deep conditioner help seal the cuticle of the hair and create a slip, leaving the hair silky smooth. I also used a Wen Styling cream right before her blow out. It helps put a little bit of substance to the hair to help hold a style. Her blow out held, and came out beautiful!
