Now, we all know that ombre hair has been a sensation between 2013 & now 2016. Different techniques and styles have been evolving & continue to progress. Its a beautiful style that just about anyone can rock...but why does the ombre style have to stop at hair? Why not put an ombre art design on your nails!? Everyone has seen the youtube tutorials about how to "ombre" two colors together by painting the nail white as a backdrop color, then painting two colors on the wedge of a makeup sponge & rolling the sponge over the nails to create a spunged affect, then sealing and blending the two colors together by applying a later of top coat. But this technique is a little more advanced, EASIER, and you can put those "not-so-every-day-eyeshadow-colors" to awesome use! This can be done with just about any pigmented eyeshadow, that is in a compact or that is in loose fine dust form. The products you will need: Gel Top Coat (I personally prefer any of the CND Shellac Gel Top Coats because frankly, theyre just the best), an LED or UV Gel curing light, pigmented eyeshadow either compacted or in fine dust pigment form, a small flat concealer brush, a cotton ball, 70% Rubbing Alcohol.
Tutorial:
1) Start with painting the nail white & letting it dry completely, or just starting with a bare nail
2)After the nail has dried, apply a thin layer of your Gel Top Coat
3)Cure the Gel Top Coat (after the gel topcoat has been cured, it should leave a sticky residue on the nail surface
4)Take your concealer brush and pick up some of your eyeshadow pigment
5)Start at the tip or the base of the nail and gently drag the pigment up or down the nail (obviously the opposite way in which ever way you started the ombre)\
6)Once youre satisfied with your eyeshadow pigment ombre, GENTLY take your finger, and pat down the pigment on the nail, crushing any clumps of eyeshadow &creating a completely smooth and flat surface
7)Apply another thin coat of your gel topcoat
8)Cure the gel topcoat again
9)Once you remove your nails from the curing light, take a cotton ball and saturate it with 70% rubbing alcohol
10)Wipe the surfave of the nail very well with the cotton ball & alcohol to remove the sticky residue off the nail surface
11)Apply cuticle oil to your cuticles so they dont dryb out from the alcohol
12) YOURE DONE!
